Spy Journal 3.0 Filtering the web for you

Windows Live Writer is a desktop application that makes it easy to publish content to your blog.The software is intuitive and powerful, but, every now and then, there is something that it can't do or could be done in a better way. Overtime though developers have provided several solutions to these problems. Sarah from Microsoft's Channel 10 has written a great article introducing ten plugins for Windows Live Writer. The ten plugins she thinks are the must haves for bloggers:

1. Digg This Plugin for Live Writer:
The Digg This plugin inserts a "Digg This" button to your Windows Live Writer posts and provides seamless integration with Digg.

Technology is amazing. We can utilise the tech tools available to us these days in remarkable ways.

I am currently sitting in a train listening to music on my Zen while writing this blog post on my tablet PC using a digital pen.

I have just finished reviewing notes for a client workshop I am heading into the city to. First I opened my email & opened some excel files to review some settings & details we are going to be discussing. Second I copied the meeting agenda to One Note so I will be able to make notes as we go in the workshop. Third I printed my quote for the work to be done from a PDF attached to an email to OneNote so I can easily refer to it in the meeting. Finally I opened Windows Live Writer to compose this blog post. It will get published as soon as I get back online.

Bink.nu has the news that Windows Live Writer has come out of beta, and will be rolled out as an important update to all beta users with microsoft update. For new users wanting to know what the fuss is about, go and download it directly from the Windows Live site.

We had a chap from Qantm speaking up the semantic web, virtualisation technologies, mashups and more. He was followed by the Faraday Media guys talking about APML, but more generally talking about some of the issues surrounding a Web 2.0 startup in Queensland. We had a great presentation by Nick Hodge on Mashups using PopFly, I have created some already - watch out for them on here soon. Silverlight got a background explanation and also some cool demos - mind you PopFly uses Silverlight also. We also had lunch hosted by Microsoft, and I scored a cool shirt. In the morning there were 2 web development companies presenting some information for graduates who may be looking for developer roles. Clearly Speedwell were a cutting edge design company  while JSA was far more of a design company, firmly ensconced  in flash technology.
