Books I have finished reading recently

I have been doing a lot of reading of late.

Here are some of the books I have finished in the last couple of weeks.
The Gold Falcon - Katharine Kerr
Come Thirsty - Max Lucado
Soul Tsunami - Leonard Sweet
King Me - Steve Farrar

The Golden Falcon was the continuation of a very long series (Book 12). It will be good to get to the end, but at the same time she manages to hold the story going!

Come Thirsty was an excellent fresh look at how we can receive living water from Christ.

Soul Tsunami is a futurist look at post modern society and how the church and should can engage. Interesting mixture of prophecy and direct action with lots of practical tips.

King Me is a book by a father about raising sons. My father gave it to me for my birthday. I enjoyoyed it very much and took a lot out of it. There wsa some stuff that I didn't agree with (like most books) but the rest was good enough to discount that.

I recommend all of them!

Dove campaign for real beauty

This is good!
All women need to see this ad regarding the real beauty of women - and blokes too!

Bike Crash

Had a hilarious stack yesterday.
Mick and I went for a cyle up the hill. We had only gone about 1/2 a k from the house when I had a blow out in my rear tube. So we quickly whipped off the wheel and changed the tube and put about 15 Psi in the tyre with the hand pump. Cycled up a small hill and then down to the servo to get some air. Went flying through an intersection and jumped an island and into the forecourt. Screamed up to the air section and went to put the bike into a big rear wheel slide. As I put my left foot down I grabbed a big handful of rear brake to discover there was none! So I grabbed front and went straight over the handlebars into the air pump!
I had forgotten to reattach the rear brakes when putting the rear tyre back on. Lucky there were no cars on the intersections!

Spam Mail

This is a corker!
I received this today from name@usingenglish.com
Indeed, another optimal power drill hardly pours freezing cold water on another tuba player. A girl scout buys an expensive gift for an earring. Any roller coaster can have a change of heart about a cargo bay about a briar patch, but it takes a real paycheck to wisely graduate from the seldom precise fighter pilot. A fractured briar patch beams with joy, and another knowingly statesmanlike tomato hesitates; however, the underhandedly elusive photon makes love to the sheriff about a pork chop.

Happy Birthday to me!

The day has started well.
Went to the LAN last night, got home at 2AM and slept in this morning.
Received presents from the kdis, then unpacked the car and checked email. About to go and watch the Bathurst 1000 race in the theater room for most of the day, followed by playing squash and then a BBQ party here.
